Cristiano Ronaldo roared back to form to drag Manchester United to a 3-2 victory against Tottenham.

Ronaldo rolled back the years with a stunning long range strike and a thumping header either side of a trademark clinical finish to win the game.

Ronaldo has been the topic of conversation this week after he missed the Manchester derby and went back to Portugal instead of watching the game at the Etihad Stadium.

But after the game, he took to Instagram to react to his first treble since returning to Old Trafford by sending a defiant message.

Ronaldo was back to his very best and with Atletico Madrid coming up on a huge European night, who would bet against him doing it again?

Diogo Dalot was also reintroduced into the United side by Ralf Rangnick and he also reacted to the win on Instagram.

He congratulated Ronaldo on becoming FIFA’s all time record goalscorer in the history of football with 807 strikes to his name.

Those are stunning figures and now the ball is in Ronaldo’s court in terms of extending the record and putting it to a point that it can hardly expect to be matched.

The win takes United back into the top four for the time being with Arsenal in fifth, albeit with four games in hand.
