Cristiano Ronaldo is missing Manchester United’s clash with Leicester City at Old Trafford this evening with illness.
Ralf Rangnick was asked by MUTV before the game for an update on the Portugal superstar’s condition ahead of United’s long-awaited return to action.
The German said that Ronaldo has flu-like symptoms and showed no signs of improvement this morning when visited by the club doctor.

“Unfortunately, he had some flu-like symptoms before training yesterday and so he didn’t feel well enough to train,” said Rangnick when asked about Ronaldo.
“We then decided to send our doctor to his home this morning just to check if he felt any better but unfortunately he isn’t.
“That is why he is not in the starting eleven like he was supposed to be.”

Ronaldo’s absence has seen Rangnick go for what could well be a fluid forward line, with the likes of Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho and Anthony Elanga all capable of playing in a variety of roles.
It could be a 4-4-2 diamond, or Pogba could be on the left of midfield. Bruno as a false nine with Elanga and Sancho either side of him is another option.
Ronaldo stepped up for United in their last Premier League game, scoring a hat-trick in the 3-2 win over Tottenham, but the onus will be on other players today.
