Ralf Rangnick has conducted his post-match press conference after Manchester United’s 3-2 win over Tottenham.
Unsurprisingly, he was asked about Cristiano Ronaldo and was keen to praise the Portuguese superstar’s best performance since he took over in the Old Trafford dugout.
But he also praised Fred, who we wrote was one of United’s three best players on the night, along with Jadon Sancho.

“He made the difference for sure with his three goals,” said Rangnick of Ronaldo. “But not only with his three goals, That was his best performance since I arrived; on and off the ball.
“We were just joking maybe it makes sense to send him to Portugal (every week). By the way, he performed on a similar kind of level on Thursday in training.
“That is why I decided after that training session to start him even though he had been out for a week. He showed today he is physically capable to (press the ball) and it was really important.
When asked about Fred, he said: “He is probably with Scott McTominay, the best ball winner, the best player if the other team is in possession but today he showed he can play perfect balls in transitional performances. From Fred, that was one of the best performances since I am here.”

Fred laid on Ronaldo for the first goal and they both put in strong performances in their different areas of the pitch this evening.
They will both be key against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night, especially if the aforementioned McTominay and Bruno Fernandes are missing for that one.
Ronaldo dragged the team to victory and it could be all set up for another huge European night for United’s talisman on Tuesday.
