Confirmed Manchester United XI v Aston Villa

Erik ten Hag has confirmed his Manchester United starting XI to face Aston Villa in the final game of the club’s pre-season tour.

United have won all three of their games on tour so far and will be looking to make it four from four against Steven Gerrard’s side, in a game which was at risk because of the heavy rain but will still go ahead as planned.

Substitutes: Bishop, Kovar, Heaton, Bailly, Malacia, Amad, Telles, Pellistri, Wan-Bissaka, Laird, Varane, Garner, Hannibal, Fish, Garnacho, Iqbal, Savage, Elanga, Chong

The big news is that Donny van de Beek is in the starting eleven for the first time on the pre-season schedule, replacing Scott McTominay in the engine room.

The other change sees Luke Shaw come back into the defence in place of Tyrell Malacia, who got his first start for the club against Crystal Palace.

Raphael Varane is on the bench for this one, along with James Garner, after fitness problems which have dogged their summer so far.

The same front four from the game against Palace starts here, with Anthony Martial looking to continue his run of scoring in every pre-season game so far.
