Manchester United have announced their confirmed starting XI to face Liverpool, with Erik Ten Hag’s side in good form to claim three points at Anfield.

The Red Devils last weekend secured their first trophy in the Dutchman’s reign at the club with a 2-0 win against Newcastle United in the League Cup final, a result that was followed up with another victory as United eased past West Ham 3-1 at Old Trafford in the FA Cup.

With Arsenal and Manchester City both winning on Saturday, United will want to keep the pressure on their Premier League rivals with a result against Liverpool, with Ten Hag and the entire Red Devils fanbase keen to add more misery onto the Anfield side’s season with a win.

Here’s the starting XI that will be looking to make it two wins out of two against Liverpool this season for United…

Confirmed Manchester United XI to face Liverpool

Starting XI: De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Casemiro, Fred, Antony, Fernandes, Rashford; Weghorst

Substitutes: Heaton, Maguire, Malacia, Wan-Bissaka, McTominacy, Sabitzer, Elanga, Garancho, Sancho

United impressed greatly against Newcastle at Wembley Stadium last Sunday, and it’s no surprise that Ten Hag has named the same starting XI to face Liverpool, with Antony starting out on the wing with Wout Weghorst leading the line for the Red Devils.

Although Alejandro Garnacho was the hero on Wednesday against West Ham, the Argentine is once again back on the bench alongside the likes of Jadon Sancho and Marcel Sabitzer, though such options amongst the substitutes could cause Liverpool some major problems as the game goes on.

With Casemiro and Fred in midfield, as well, Liverpool could struggle in the centre of the park against the Brazilian duo, who could have a game to remember at Anfield if United manage to walk away with all three points against their greatest of English rivals.
