Confirmed Manchester United starting line-up vs Charlton Athletic

World Cup winner Lisandro Martinez starts his first game for the Busby Babes since triumphing in Qatar, and the Argentine partners Manchester United captain Harry Maguire in defence.

Donny van de Beek is out injured and Bruno Fernandes misses out through suspension. With the experienced duo unavailable, Ten Hag has handed a debut to 17-year-old Kobbie Mainoo.

Marcus Rashford, who is targeting scoring in his eighth consecutive game at Old Trafford, starts on the bench.

Ten Hag’s side have beaten Aston Villa and Burnley at the Theatre of Dreams to reach the last-eight stage.

Charlton, who were managed by Anthony Hayes at the time, beat Brighton & Hove Albion on penalties in the last round before Dean Holden’s side set up a mouth-watering clash with the twenty-time league champions.

The Londoners, who currently sit 12th in League One, are the only non-Premier League side left in the 2022-23 competition.

The other three quarter-final ties are Newcastle United v Leicester City, Nottingham Forest v Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton v Manchester City.

Ten Hag’s side are targeting an eighth consecutive win across all competitions and a ninth win on the bounce at home.

The 52-year-old’s side welcome Manchester City to M16 on Saturday for the second derby of the season and United will be gunning for revenge following the 6-3 hammering at the Etihad back in October.
