Erik ten Hag has confirmed his Manchester United starting XI to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this evening.

United are looking to build on the momentum of their best performance under the Dutchman against Tottenham on Wednesday night.

The only change to that starting line-up sees Christian Eriksen come into the team in place of midweek goalscorer Fred.

Confirmed Manchester United XI vs Chelsea

Starting XI: De Gea, Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Shaw, Casemiro, Eriksen, Fernandes, Antony, Sancho, Rashford

Substitutes: Heaton, Lindelof, Malacia, McTominay, Fred, Pellistri, Elanga, Garnacho, Iqbal

Cristiano Ronaldo has of course been dropped from the squad for this game and Zidane Iqbal takes his place on the bench.

Ten Hag has prioritised continuity in his team selections and again, he has kept changes to a minimum here.

He got criticism in some quarters for not fielding two defensive midfielders against Manchester City, but he has employed the same approach here.

Time will tell if he is right to go in that direction as United look for a statement victory away from home to go with three impressive home wins against top six rivals.
