Confirmed Manchester United line-up vs Barcelona

Line-up: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Shaw, Malacia, Casemiro, Fred, Sancho, Bruno Fernandes, Rashford, Weghorst

Substitutes: Heaton, Butland, Maguire, Lindelof, Dalot, Elanga, Garnacho, Pellistri, Mainoo, Iqbal,

You can see how Ten Hag’s XI compares to our predicted XI here.

The big news is that Ten Hag has decided to account for the absence of Martinez by keeping Luke Shaw at centre-back, with Tyrell Malacia at left-back.

Shaw played in that role at Elland Road on Sunday, while Raphael Varane has come into the side in place of Harry Maguire.

Diogo Dalot started against Leeds, but Aaron Wan-Bissaka has returned to the starting XI for this game, making his first European appearance of the season.

Casemiro’s suspension is only domestic, so he is able to play here in place of Sabitzer, whose bookings for Bayern Munich in the Champions League rule him out here.

Wout Weghorst also makes his first European appearance for United, leading the line in the continued absence of Anthony Martial.
