This fixture presents a tough challenge, with United coming off a 1-1 draw against Wolves in the final game of 2025.

Now, United are back on the road for the first time since a 2-1 loss to Aston Villa, as 2026 begins.

Here is the team Amorim selected for this game. The main takeaways from the game are that Joshua Zirkzee drops to the bench, with Leny Yoro starting.

Meanwhile, the bench has Godwill Kukonki for the first time this season as one of six academy players.

Leeds sit 16th, despite recent form, which has seen them competitive against every opponent they have had.

Nine points behind United, Leeds will know they’re getting a weakened version of the Red Devils.

This is as Amorim confirmed eight absences, all of whom are vital, and this leaves the Red Devils without multiple starters.

Victory will keep United in the top four hunt, while a defeat will add further tension to an already increasingly concerning situation between Amorim and the higher-ups.

With the roses derby, one of the oldest in England, Amorim really needs to win, albeit his team doesn’t give much confidence.
