Manchester United’s line-up to take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League has now been confirmed ahead of kick-off.

Michael Carrick has named his starting XI and substitutes bench to face Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

Manchester United beat Everton last week 1-0, coming into this game in top form with five wins in six games.

Here is the team Carrick has gone for.

Benjamin Sesko starts for Manchester United

There is just one change made to Carrick’s winning side, with Benjamin Sesko is handed the first start of this new era.

Elsewhere, concerns over Kobbie Mainoo were false as he starts with no sign of injury.

The squad is otherwise unchanged in what is probably the strongest team available to Carrick right now, with Lisandro Martinez clearly judged not ready to be playing.

Should be enough to get the win.

Manchester United look to capitalise and go third in the league

United beat Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park earlier this season, meaning this is the chance to do a league double.

This would be United’s first league double over Palace since 2017/18, which is a ridiculous record that needs to be rectified this weekend.

For United, victory would be massive, pushing Carrick’s side up into third in the Premier League table. This is after Villa did United a favour by losing to Wolves.

With Chelsea playing Arsenal, there is a good chance United can go six points clear of sixth with a win here, which is a gap Carrick has shown no signs of letting slip.

So with those around us floundering – besides Liverpool – United need to capitalise and win this game comfortably.

Victory here and mid-week against Newcastle should put United in a brilliant position to go on and get Champions League football. So it’s time for Carrick to step up and show why he should be made permanent this summer.
