“A lot of talk”… Rasmus Hojlund breaks silence on goal drought scrutiny, also defends Garnacho

Manchester United looked back to their very best with a 3-0 victory against West Ham United.

The performance was reminiscent of a Manchester United of old. Assured, dominant and clinical. Erik ten Hag‘s side really showed up today at Old Trafford.

There were some seriously good performances. Diogo Dalot was immense, Casemiro was solid and Alejandro Garnacho was out of this world.

The latter in Garnacho seems to have formed a fine relationship with Rasmus Hojlund, which is just now coming to fruition.

Rasmus Hojlund on Alejandro Garnacho

Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, the goalscorers spoke about the game, with Hojlund presenting Garnacho with the Man of the Match Award. They were asked about the relationship forming between the pair, to which Hojlund responded:

“I remember just a month ago, there was a lot of talk about me and Garnacho not scoring enough goals. But we are both young, just growing every day. You can see the connection between us already now!”

The young duo are proving the doubters wrong and are now emerging as two of Manchester United’s most exciting, vital first-team squad players.

Hojlund’s goal drought now seems a world away, Garnacho brilliant

It now seems ludicrous to think there was doubt in Hojlund’s goal-scoring abilities. He’s now hit 10 for the season in all competitions, with four in his last four games.

The hefty fee for the now 21-year-old now is slowly starting to make sense. He always looked dangerous, but now he’s showing the figures to back this all up.

Garnacho was always destined to be a superstar – but he’s slowly adding goal-scoring to his game, reminiscent of his idol – Cristiano Ronaldo.

Alongside Kobbie Mainoo, Manchester United have a trio of the most exciting talents in world football. The future is seriously bright.
