United fans had a chance earlier today to see new signing Dan James in action.
The club confirmed James’ signing from Swansea on Friday afternoon after he completed a medical a day earlier.
He is on international duty with Wales and started for Ryan Giggs’ side on Saturday away against World Cup finalists Croatia.
James’ Wales lost 2-1, with the new Manchester United signing substituted after 79 minutes.
James is relatively new to international level, scoring his first goal for Wales earlier this year.
Croatia were tough to break down and he found it tricky to provide the cutting edge. One thing which stood out was his work ethic.
James could have scored too, if Gareth Bale had passed to him when through on goal. The Real Madrid star shot and wasted the opportunity himself instead.
If Wales had better forward play then his crossing could have been taken advantage of.
For many United fans this was the first time they had seen James in action.
He showed enough to hint he can be a problem for opposing defences next season.
