Sheriff Tiraspol midfielder Mudasiru Salifu has shared a post-match selfie with Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Salifu was a second half substitute as Manchester United won 2-0 in Moldova. Cristiano Ronaldo scored United’s second goal in the win.

Salifu hailed Ronaldo as a ‘legend’, with the Portuguese star looking a little flustered at being grabbed for one of several pictures he no doubt had to pose for.

Sheriff Tiraspol were overawed and comfortably beaten, failing to threaten a United side which looked in complete control.

United face them at Old Trafford at the end of October and will be heavy favourites once again, especially after this straightforward away win.

Ronaldo’s goal was his first strike of the season, a real relief after a difficult few weeks where he has not been a regular starter.

Was this performance enough to secure a starting spot in United’s next Premier League game away at Manchester City? Probably not.

Both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial will be pushing to return to fitness over the next couple of weeks, and Ronaldo could find himself back on the bench again, despite his good efforts against Sheriff.
