Manchester United have celebrated Cristiano Ronaldo scoring his 700th goal of his club career at Carrington Training Ground.

The 37-year-old came off the bench to net the winner against Everton at Goodison Park last night.

Having replaced Anthony Martial on the half hour mark, United’s number seven smashed the past Jordan Pickford, with his left foot, on the stoke of half-time after being played in on goal by former Real Madrid teammate Casemiro.

It was the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s first Premier League goal of the season, and the former Juventus man will no doubt be already targeting getting to 800.

Having come agonisingly close to hitting the landmark in Cyprus in the Europa League win against Omonia Nicosia on Thursday night, the Portuguese national team captain will be delighted to have hit yet another milestone in his glittering career.

Ronaldo’s clinical finish against the Toffees ensured Erik ten Hag’s side got back to winning ways in the Premier League after being pulled apart by Manchester City last Sunday.

Having opened his Premier League account for the 2022-23 campaign, Ronaldo will be targeting a place in Ten Hag’s starting line-up for Sunday’s clash against Newcastle United at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo scored two against the Magpies at the Theatre of Dreams last September, in what was his homecoming match following his arrival from Juventus.

But prior to the clash against Eddie Howe’s Toon Army, United face Neil Lennon’s Omonia on Thursday night and Ronaldo will be keen to make up for the chances he missed against the former Celtic manager’s side.

But fresh after coming away from Merseyside with all three points thanks to the Portuguese man’s winner, United’s first team squad came together to celebrate with one of the greatest players of all time.
