Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a move from Manchester United to Napoli in the closing days of the transfer window.
Ronaldo went public with his desire to leave United last month, citing a wish to play in the Champions League in the season ahead.
At that time, potential suitors looked thin on the ground due to his wage demands and age, and so it has proved with his situation still unresolved.
Napoli have been mooted but Italian journalist Ivan Zazzaroni has cast serious doubt on those rumours in Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport.

Journalist doubts Cristiano Ronaldo to Napoli links
He said: “Ronaldo does not want to come to Napoli, I know for sure.
“Not because of the city of Naples or for the Napoli fans, but because he believes that Napoli cannot guarantee him the passage to the knockout rounds of the Champions League.
“Sporting Lisbon never considered it even for a second.
“I can tell you with certainty that he does not want to come to Naples.”
Ronaldo has been a substitute for three of United’s first four games of the season, and United look more fluid and energetic in attack without him.
The situation needs resolving, because it will become a circus and a sideshow if he is at the club in a World Cup year as a substitute.
Ronaldo has also said that he will reveal the truth about his future when the transfer window closes later this week.
It remains to be seen if he will be a United player at that point, but at the moment, it is really not clear where a new club who can afford him is going to come from.
