Gary Neville has sarcastically responded to Cristiano Ronaldo‘s latest comments in an interview with Piers Morgan.
Despite being teammates at Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson there is no love lost between Neville and Ronaldo.
In his role as Sky Sports pundit, Manchester United’s former right-back has frequently reiterated since the start of the 2022-23 campaign that the Red Devils and Ronaldo would be better off cutting ties.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has accused Neville of using him for fame after snubbing him live on television in similar fashion to Jamie Carragher.

Neville did previously support and defend Ronaldo, but following recent events, the former England right-back has called out the 37-year-old’s behaviour and lack of professionalism and respect shown towards Manchester United.
Speaking in an interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo was asked about he feels when being criticised by the likes of Neville.
He told Talk TV: “It’s hard to listen [to] that kind of criticism and negative about people who play with you, for example, Gary Neville, as well. I think they take advantage of that (his profile) because they are not stupid. I’m the number one followed guy in the world. It’s not by coincidence.
“To listen as ex-colleagues or team-mates criticise you, when they only see one point of view. It’s easy. It’s easy to criticise, I don’t know if you have a job in television that they must criticise to be more famous. I really don’t understand it. It’s hard when you see people who was in the dressing room with you criticising that way.”

Following the airing of Ronaldo’s latest damming comments, which come off the back of him claiming the Red Devils have “betrayed” him and that he has no respect for Erik ten Hag, Neville couldn’t resist reacting with a playful mocking response.
The 47-year-old also seemed to like Bruno Fernandes’ frosty reception with United’s number seven as the pair reunited with Portugal ahead of the World Cup.
Neville retweeted Sky Sports News tweet on Twitter.
