Cristiano Ronaldo sends message after Manchester United win

Manchester United needed a very late goal to beat Omonia on a tough night at Old Trafford.

In the cold light of day the morning after, United can be satisfied with their resolve. It just wasn’t the fun evening any supporter hoped it might be.

Scott McTominay was the hero late on, finally finding a way past goalkeeper Francis Uzoho.

Cristiano Ronaldo started the game up front and he has praised the team’s determination.

Ronaldo praises United

Ronaldo led the line and played all 90 minutes as he did in the away tie with Omonia.

Similarly he could not find the net, despite scoring the winner against Everton at the weekend.

Ronaldo sent a message after the game praising the team’s spirit which kept them going right to the end.

Ronaldo had five shots at goal but none of the clear cut opportunities fell his way.

The superstar worked hard throughout and will hope for better luck at the weekend when United take on Newcastle.

The corresponding fixture last season was his glorious homecoming in which he scored twice in a 4-1 win. A similar result would do nicely this weekend.
