Cristiano Ronaldo is known for being unhappy if he fails to score even if his team wins.
And he certainly looked a little frustrated after his late shot was blocked as Manchester United beat Arsenal 3-1.
But at the final whistle, Ronaldo was buzzing. This might be the happiest we have ever seen him in a Manchester United shirt when he has failed to score.
Ronaldo began the game on the bench, and was in good spirits despite this. He was seen standing up to applaud and celebrate when debutant Antony scored the game’s opening goal.
The Portuguese star came off the bench early in the second half and played his role as United went on to win 3-1, with Marcus Rashford scoring twice.
Ronaldo was in great spirits at full time, seen leaving the pitch with a big smile, and his message on Instagram congratulated the team, and thanked the supporters.
Ronaldo has good reason to be in a positive mood, despite his lack of game time and goals to start the season.
He is part of a winning team, a side which has won four successive games for the first time since he returned to the club.
This is what he wanted all along, for Manchester United to be a strong side, and he will back his own ability to force his way into the line-up before long.
Ronaldo will also want to be seen as a constructive, positive influence behind the scenes, and everything we have seen on and off the pitch over the past week suggests he has a big part to play.
