Ajax faced Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus during their Champions League run in the 2018/19 season.

Ten Hag’s drew the first leg 1-1 in before winning 2-1 in Turin to pull off a major shock, having already eliminated Real Madrid.

Ajax’s video shows Ten Hag and Ronaldo meeting on the touchline and getting on very well, sharing a smile together.

The clip bodes well for Ronaldo and Ten Hag’s relationship when he arrives at Old Trafford. Ronaldo is United’s top goalscorer this season and has a lot more to offer, even at the age of 37.

Ten Hag’s Ajax side has been built around Sebastien Haller, who is not the most mobile of strikers, and he will surely be able to use a player of Ronaldo’s enduring quality for the benefit of the team.

United fans will have to wait a little bit longer to see it, but not too much longer. In a month’s time the Eredivisie season will be over, and Ten Hag will be on his way to Manchester
