Manchester United raided Ajax three times in the summer, for manager Erik ten Hag and players Lisandro Martinez and Antony.
This did not stop the Dutch side’s social media account sending a message to United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo yesterday.
It came after Ajax youngster David Kalokoh replicated Cristiano Ronaldo‘s new celebration in the UEFA Youth League in a win over Rangers.
Ajax message to Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo did not respond to the message.
A video clip of the goal and celebration can be seen below, with Kalokoh showing off some quick and nifty footwork to get into space before curling his shot into the net.
Kalokoh, 17, has scored six goals and provided three assists in 13 youth matches for Ajax this season.
He is a player Erik ten Hag and his deep knowledge of Ajax’s youth system will be well aware of, so he is one worth keeping an eye on in future seasons.
There is a cruel twist to this celebration where Ajax are concerned. When Cristiano Ronaldo first used it in the Premier League, he did so alongside a mimicking Antony – who quit the Dutch club this summer.

Ronaldo’s famed Siuu celebration is the one he is most widely known for, and this has even transferred over into the NFL this season, with American footballers now using it.
Always the trendsetter, Ronaldo has moved onto a new way to celebrate – and we hope to see more of it, starting thi Thursday night against Real Sociedad.
