Manchester United have completed the signing of Christian Eriksen but are yet to confirm his squad number.
Eriksen is the club’s second new face of the summer, following Tyrell Malacia through the door.
Malacia has already made his first appearances in club colours, wearing the number 12 jersey last worn by Chris Smalling.

11 – Now vacated by Mason Greenwood, the shirt was previously worn by Anthony Martial and Ryan Giggs. Eriksen is not a winger, but has played on the left at times in his career.
14 – Jesse Lingard has just freed up the number 14 shirt, worn before him by Javier Hernandez.
18 – With Bruno Fernandes recently shifting to 8, the number 18 is available. The shirt was formerly worn by playmaker Paul Scholes.
21 – Eriksen wore 21 at Brentford last season and it is available since Edinson Cavani left last summer. However, the shirt number is also Frenkie de Jong’s number at Barcelona, and he may want it if he signs, and Lisandro Martinez also wore it for Ajax last season, so there could be competition for this one.
24 – Eriksen wore 24 at Inter Milan before his move back to England, and the jersey has been worn by the likes of Darren Fletcher in the past.
Eriksen has also worn the numbers 8, 10 and 23 in his career so far.
As mentioned, Fernandes has now shifted into 8 after the departure of Juan Mata, with Marcus Rashford the current incumbent at 10.
Luke Shaw wears number 23, so Eriksen may need to settle for one which is not one of his first choices.
You would think the club would want to start selling Eriksen replica shirts soon, so we should expect confirmation of his squad number sooner rather than later.
