Manchester United are trying to find a lethal striker who can score at a prolific rate, amid the first team’s wasteful finishing.
In the under-18s, there are no such troubles. Gabriele Biancheri has been a machine this season, scoring nine goals already.
Biancheri has struck eight under-18s goals, and another at under-21 level. Ethan Wheatley has also netted two under-21 goals in the matches he has dropped down for.
And at the weekend another young forward issued a reminder that he should not be forgotten about either.

Victor Musa scores on return
Talented young forward Victor Musa had been on the sidelines for six months due to injury.
He had been flitting between United’s under-18s and under-21s at the time, with his previous match a 5-2 win over Blackburn back in March. He scored one and provided an assist in the under-18s win.
Musa made his first appearance of the 2024/25 season at the weekend, starring in the 4-0 win for the under-18s over Middlesbrough
The teenager, who turned 18 earlier this month, scored Manchester United’s third goal after being set up with a through ball from Amir Ibragimov.
It was the perfect way for Musa to return to action, and get his own season up and running, while the under-18s kept up their 100 per cent record.
Biancheri had opened the scoring by netting two goals, while winger Bendito Mantato added a fourth goal in stoppage time.
Victor Musa needs big season
Victor Musa is a talent who has represented both England and Spain at under-16s level.
He has now scored 13 league goals for United’s under-18s side.
United were starting to push him up to the under-21s late last season before his injury, but he only made three appearances totalling 92 minutes.
Expect United to persist with this once he has proven his fitness. There is a lot of competition among strikers at youth level, especially with Chido Obi-Martin set to arrive.
Musa can stand out if he can kick on and grab some goals at under-21 level, and start to further demonstrate what he can do.
