Manchester United have a new wonderkid on the rise, and Samuel Lusale has issued the perfect comparison for him after his U21 performance.

The Red Devils have talented footballers in various positions at academy level, with high hopes that a few of the current crop will make it to the Manchester United first team.

Despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe slamming the academy in its current iteration, there is plenty of talent currently progressing and developing at Carrington.

This was clear as the U21s lost to Barnsley’s senior side, but there were multiple standout performances in this defeat.

Now, one has been compared with one player Ineos sold in 2024.

Samuel Lusale compares Yuel Helafu with Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Despite being just 17, Yuel Helafu is a talent Manchester United fans are beginning to get excited by.

Earlier this week, Helafu starred for United U21 against Barnsley, putting in a very encouraging performance while playing four years above his age.

Once the dust of his performance had settled, Helafu took to Instagram to share images of himself during the United defeat to Barnsley.

It was in the comments of this post that United players reacted.

One notable response saw Samuel Lusale send a message, comparing Helafu to Aaron Wan-Bissaka with a GIF.

Amir Ibragimov commented with two heart emojis, while Tyler Fletcher called Helafu his “lil bro”.

Helafu earned a salute from Bendito Mantato, while Bassirou Nkoto added, “Ayyyy ehhhhhhh violation”.

Yuel Helafu being fast-tracked by Manchester United

While not the glamorous name of a JJ Gabriel or Shea Lacey, Helafu is being treated in a similar vein by United.

Helafu has already been in first-team training and is clearly being fast-tracked by the club, as he could be seen as a potential option under Amorim at right-wing-back in the not-too-distant future.

As a player, Helafu excels defensively but also shines on the ball, having the press resistance that Wan-Bissaka did, along with the tackling, which explains the comparisons.

Going forward, expect much more of Helafu with the U21s as he aims to no doubt earn more senior exposure and impress Amorim.
