Omari Forson shone once again for Manchester United’s Under 21 side when they travelled to face Wolves last night.

Forson opened the scoring before half-time, netting his fifth goal in just four games – as per Transfermarkt – to keep his hot streak going.

Then he turned provider, creating Joe Hugill’s goal to make it 2-0 on 68 minutes, and put United in complete control.

Unfortunately, we let the lead slip in the final 20 minutes of the game, and were pegged back to 2-2 by Tyler Roberts and Owen Farmer.

Omari Forson continues hot streak for Manchester United Under 21s

The starting lineup for the game was: Bishop, Jurado, Huddlestone, Aljofree, Murray, Collyer, Gore, Mejia, Forson, Emeran, Hugill

On the substitutes bench were: Mee, Jackson, Wellens, Nolan, Hansen, as United conceded an equaliser just two minutes from time.

The result extends United’s unbeaten run in 2023 to eight games, which is an impressive record for Mark Dempsey’s side.

The result leaves them fifth in the Premier League 2 table, ahead of a game with second placed Chelsea next time out.

Forson has trained with the first team earlier this season, and given Erik ten Hag’s involvement with the Under-21 side and ensuring an integration between the two, the Dutchman will be aware of this recent good form.

Ten Hag does not hand out opportunities to young players easily, however, and he will only bring Forson into senior games when the time is right.

United are going through a gruelling schedule of games, where injuries and suspensions could open up chances to play.

All he can do for the time being is keep scoring and making goals at this level, while last night’s match will be a lesson in game management for our young side.
