Manchester United’s first team are in action on Thursday evening and fans would love to see a repeat of the Under-19’s success.

European football is the focus for Manchester United – and not just at first-team level.

The top priority is a big result for the senior side as Erik ten Hag takes his side to face Fenerbahce on Thursday evening.

The Dutchman needs results amid questions over his future and a poor start in Europe means United really need a result on the road.

Ten Hag will have also kept tabs on United’s Under-19’s though as they featured in the UEFA Youth League against FK Zalgiris on Wednesday.

United travelled to Vilnius and racked up a 5-2 victory with Gabriele Biancheri stealing the show by scoring two more goals.

Gabriele Biancheri celebrates Manchester United brace

Biancheri has been on fire this season.

The 18-year-old striker joined United from Cardiff City in 2023 and has already racked up a frankly ridiculous record of eight goals in five Under-18 Premier League games.

Excitement around Biancheri has been building this season and the academy star continued that with a brace against Zalgiris on Wednesday.

Biancheri has now taken to Instagram to celebrate his goals in Europe and a ‘good win way from home’.

United talents have been flocking to Biancheri’s Instagram, sending him messages after another fine display.

Habeeb Ogunneye simply stated ‘shock’ as Biancheri once again dominated whilst Ethan Wheatley branded him ‘the main man’.

Sam Mather branded Biancheri ‘the man’ whilst Tyler Fletcher suggested that it’s simply ‘too easy’ for Biancheri right now.

Shea Lacey, Samuel Lusale and James Overy all sent messages to Biancheri too as the hype around the teenager only continues to build.

Biancheri has a big decision to make

Biancheri’s prime focus right now is developing at United with the hope of becoming a first-team star one day.

There is a looming decision for Biancheri to make though as he will be at the centre of a tug-of-war on the international stage.

Biancheri was born in Cardiff and has so far represented Wales at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-19 levels.

The striker is of Italian descent though and qualifies to play for Italy, meaning he may yet have a big decision to make.

If Italy come knocking, Biancheri may find it difficult to say no – and he is surely on their radar after a blistering start to the season.
