It has been a hectic start to the month for Manchester United’s talented academy players.
The under-18s came from two goals down to beat Stoke City 3-2 at the weekend thanks to goals from Joe Hugill, Ethan Ennis and Maxi Oyedele.
A number of talents were not available for selection as they had flown out to America to take part in the 2022 Adidas Generation Cup.
The tournament is being held in Dallas and it is a prestigious youth tournament featuring Celtic, River Plate, Santos Laguna, along with Manchester United and numerous MLS teams.

Winning start
Manchester United have two teams competing, in the under-17s and under-15s age groups.
United’s under-17s got off to a winning start by beating Orlando City 2-0.
Kobbie Mainoo and James Nolan scored United’s goals, with the team a mix of United’s regular under-18s and under-16s age groups.
Mainoo has been one of the stars of Manchester United’s FA Youth Cup run to the final, due to be played at Old Trafford in the coming weeks against Nottingham Forest.
He captained the young side against Orlando City and rose to the challenge. He is still just 16, turning 17 later this month.
Also in United’s group at the tournament are Minnesota United and Chicago Fire.
United’s under-15s drew their opening game against Minnesota United, with the game ending 1-1.
They then beat San Jose Earthquakes 2-1, with Shea Lacey scoring twice for United.
Previous players to feature in the Adidas Generation Cup include US internationals Weston McKennie and Giovanni Reyna.
