Manchester United youngster Louis Jackson enjoyed a terrific 2022 and will hope 2023 is even better.

Who is Louis Jackson?
Louis Jackson is a centre-back in Manchester United’s under-18s side who played a key role in the team winning the FA Youth Cup last season.
He started started two games to help United reach the final, and then when Tyler Fredricson fell ill on the day of the game, Jackson was called in to start against Nottingham Forest.
Just 16 at the time, Jackson delivered a composed performance in front of 70,000 fans at Old Trafford, alongside Rhys Bennett, with United winning 3-1.
Jackson started United’s opening game of this year’s FA Youth Cup campaign, a 3-1 away win at Crystal Palace.
The defender has played eight league games at under-18s level this season, six as a starter, and has 21 games under his belt in total for the 18s.
He was an unused substitute against Liverpool at under-21 level earlier this season, showing United are considering moving him up a level. But having only recently turned 17, there is no rush.
Making an impact early would be in keeping with his career. Jackson made his debut for United’s under-18 side back in early 2021 in the league when he was just 15.

Louis Jackson international status
Louis Jackson’s international status has been subject of a tug of war between two UK nations. At present he seems to have settled on Scotland.
Jackson was born in England and featured for the Young Lions at under-16 level. He was then called into both England and Scotland squads at under-17s.
The defender appears now to have chosen Scotland, making his debut for the under-18s last September.
