Friday night saw Manchester United’s U21 side back in action in the league against Derby County, with Adam Lawrence looking for two wins in two.
It would have been a title affirming win for Manchester United had it been secured, however, unfortunately was not to be.
Derby County presented a very strong defence which United couldn’t get through before the visitors took a 1-0 lead.
Who will be Michael Carrick’s first Manchester United academy debutant?
Carrick will need Carrington with no January signings…
United spent the game chasing a goal, but late on, United drew level through Louie Bradbury.
However a winner was one step too far as United only claimed a 1-1 draw.

1-1 Manchester United
LOUIE BRADBURY! United level with three minutes left! Another clutch moment by the teenager.
Assist: Sharpe

Only minutes left, but United have Derby punned in their own box. No way through so far.
[Link]Very little happening in second half
United haven’t been at their best here, unable to create anything clear past Derby’s deep defence.
The Rams are down to 10 men though, so United need to push for an equaliser.
[Link]Half-time
United go into the break trailing to Derby but will feel they had the better of the half overall. However, Elyh Harrison has kept United in it with a couple big saves late in the opening 45. All to play for.

United capitalise on a loose pass with Moorhouse and McCormack working it well to Sharpe but he shoots directly at the goalkeeper.
[Link]Moorhouse again looking so comfortable
Moorhouse looking way too good for this level, untouchable carrying the ball through the middle.
[Link]Great play from Moorhouse
Excellent from Moorhouse as he carries from defence to attack setting up Sharpe for an effort.
[Link]Chido Obi will want to score
Obi has had a mixed season, but after Louie Bradbury’s goal on Monday, the Dane will want to establish himself as top dog here.
[Link]Jack Moorhouse returns
After being recalled, Moorhouse is back in the U21s tonight with a point to prove alongside Rafe McCormack.
[Link]Kamason starts on the wing
Interestingly, Kamason has been lined up as a right winger instead of right back. Could be interesting to see how he fares further forward than usual having shone as an attacking full-back.

Subs: Murdock, Kukonki, McAllister, Bradbury, Brown
