Manchester United supporters are absolutely convinced the club have another gem of a player coming through the ranks.
Carrington is a hotbed of talent with Manchester United benefitting from more than 250 youngsters going on to make the jump from academy to first team football through the years.
At the weekend Manchester United’s under-18s side beat Blackburn 9-0, a one-sided performance where highly rated midfielder James Scanlon scored four goals.
Yet it was another player who had United supporters buzzing, with a promising defender getting on the scoresheet too.

Godwill Kukonki impresses Man Utd fans
Manchester United supporters had a lot to say about 16-year-old defender Godwill Kukonki, who has emerged as a regular starter for the under-18s so far this season.
Kukonki is part of a side which has a 100 per cent record to begin the campaign, and he scored his first goal at the weekend in the 9-0 win.
Fans on social media were raving about Kukonki’s performance and tip him to potentially become a first team star.
One wrote: “Kukonki is looking very comfortable in the U18s. Comes with a reputation. United have struggled to produce defenders in recent years, but he can hopefully be the exception to smash the rule.”
Another added: “Godwill Kukonki, excellent, remember his name he’s one for the future.”
A third compared him to a current RB Leipzig defender who has been linked to United, writing: “Godwill Kukonki reminds me a lot of Castello Lukeba A nice LCB/LB profile, fearless in possession, disguises and reverses line breakers very well, and has a terrific physique for his age.”
A fourth noted: “Kukonki has everything you want in a centre back, will be interesting to follow his development.”
And another added: “Godwill Kukonki is such a nice LCB/LB profile, brave in possession, disguises & reverses line breakers really nicely, good frame relative to his age. Massively impressive in both positions, I’m a fan.”
A further comment read: “People finally seeing the potential of Godwill Kukonki. Been saying this for months now. What a player.”
And another confidently added: “If this guy doesn’t make it, I’ll be so shocked. Barring injuries Kukonki will make it.”
Who is Godwill Kukonki?
Godwill Kukonki made his Manchester United under-18s debut a year ago when he was just 15-year-old.
It is only really this season that he has stepped up as a regular, with Jack Kingdon and Louis Jackson stepping up to under-21 level.
Kukonki is eligible to play international football for England or DR Congo, and so far has not been capped at youth level by either.
At just 16, Kukonki stands at an imposing 6ft 4″ and while this clearly helps him stand out at youth level, his passing and composure in possession shows he is far more than simply being physically gifted.
There is a big queue of defenders in front of Kukonki at Manchester United, but if he keeps on impressing, he may end up making his under-21 debut before long.
