Four Manchester United players feature as England u18 and u19s secure double wins

Manchester United’s young players featured as England’s youth teams secured victories at under-18s and under-19s level.

In-form Omari Forson was a second half substitute as the England under-19s beat Montenegro 2-0.

Forson has been in excellent form for United’s under-21s this season, scoring four goals, and has trained with the first team.

He was joined from the bench by FA Youth Cup winning teammate Sam Mather, who also came off the bench late in the second half.

Leeds’ Sonny Perkins and Liverpool’s Luke Chambers scored the goals in the second half, with England dominating with 22 shots at goal compared to Montenegro’s three.

The match was part of a qualification tournament for the under-19 European Championships. A match follows against Georgia on Saturday and Denmark on Tuesday.

Manchester United duo start England under-18s win

Kobbie Mainoo and Tyler Fredricson both started as England’s under-18s team beat Netherlands 1-0.

Both players starred in United’s FA Youth Cup campaign last season and have also trained with the first team.

Fredricson was also recently with the Europa League squad ahead of the tie with Real Sociedad, so he has certainly caught Erik ten Hag’s eye.

The centre-back will be pleased to have kept a clean sheet in the win, in which Chelsea’s Leo Castledine scored a late winner.

England’s under-18s side have another match on Friday against Faroe Islands.
