Manchester United academy star Finley McAllister has made his first appearance in five months against Manchester City under 18s this weekend.
The derby, unfortunately, ended in defeat for United’s academy. The young Red Devils had beaten their local rivals in the away fixture but came out as 3-1 losers at Carrington.
A Louis Jackson header was the only thing United had to cheer in the match, however, a major positive to come out of the defeat is that 16-year-old Finley McAllister managed to grab his first appearance in five months after an injury left him sidelined.

Finley McAllister features for academy for the first time in five months
The Salford-born midfielder managed 46 minutes against the Cityzens, as he made his first appearance since suffering a horrendous knee injury in October of last year.
It wasn’t the finest outing for McAllister, City went into the halftime interval two goals to the good and he did look a little off the pace, but the main thing is he now has minutes under his belt and he’ll definitely get back to his best as the game time continues.
He is a really exciting prospect, for many reasons. He’s a very technically gifted midfielder, who knows how to pick a pass and also has great defensive capabilities.
What’s most intriguing for United fans is that he’s a red through and through. When he isn’t balling out for the academy side, he can often be found attending first-team home and away fixtures.
This is great as a young lad coming through the club and is reminiscent of old when lads who were developed at the club such as Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and the rest of the class of 92 we’re all not just players – but huge fans of Manchester United.
Let’s hope McAllister goes from strength to strength following his return.
