Finley McAllister compares Manchester United Academy duo to Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe

Manchester United youngster Finley McAllister has compared talented academy duo Charlie McNeill and Shola Shoretire to Paris Saint Germain’s Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

Mark Dempsey’s Manchester United Under-21 side scored two goals within a minute of injury time to salvage a 3-3 draw against Chelsea in yesterday’s Premier League 2 clash at Kingsmeadow.

Shoretire scored in the 95th and 96th-minute to salvage a point for Dempsey’s young Reds.

That was the under-21s sixth draw from nine league matches this season.

Having come on at half-time to replace Kobbie Mainoo, McNeill played an instrumental role in igniting United’s comeback.

After collecting an arrowed cross field pass from veteran Tom Huddlestone, the former Manchester City marksman whipped in a perfect cross to the onrushing Shoretire who clinically slotted home the cross on the volley at the near post.

Following some neat play involving Omari Forson and Huddlestone, Charlie Savaged played an inch perfect pass into the path of the marauding Marc Jurado, and the former Barcelona youngster squared the ball to Shoretire who poked home United’s equaliser at the death.

McNeill, who made his senior Manchester United debut last month after coming off the bench against Real Sociedad in the Europa League last month, posted on Instagram after yesterday’s draw.

Manchester United youngster McAllister, who has played four times for United’s Under-18s this season, commented on McNeill’s Instagram post.

The 16-year-old commented “Messi and Mbappe” in response to McNeill’s reference about his assist to Shoretire.

It’s quite the comparison for the talented Manchester United duo.

Eighteen-year-old Shoretire is certainly producing figures that Mbappe and Messi would even have been proud of in recent weeks.

From United’s last three Premier League 2 games, Shoretire, who has five senior appearances to his name, has produced three goals and three assists.
