Manchester United have handed a first professional contact to Amir Ibragimov as the teenager continues to turn heads at Old Trafford.
Manchester United’s academy has a long history of producing players who break into the first-team picture.
253 academy graduates have emerged at United over the years, from the ‘Class of 92’ to the likes of Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo.
Amir Ibragimov is now on that journey and will be looking to join the list of first-team debutants.
The 17-year-old hails from Dagestan in Russia, but his family moved to the UK with Ibragimov aged just 11.
Ibragimov spent time in the Sheffield United ranks before United snapped him up in 2021.

Ibragimov predominantly plays as a winger attacking midfielder and has impressed in the Under-18 Premier League this season.
Six goals and four assists in 16 games have seen Ibragimov earn praise from MUTV’s Liam Bradford for being a ‘real danger’.
Ben Thornley has also hailed Ibragimov, stating that he is a ‘joy to watch’ and ‘quite a clever player’.
Ibragimov has even made two Premier League 2 appearances this season and will hope for more next term.
United have now given Ibragimov his first professional contract at Old Trafford, and the teenager has taken to Instagram to react.
“Happy to sign my first professional contract at Manchester United, nothing changes, the hard work goes on,” said Ibragimov, alongside ‘alhamdulillah’.

Ibragimov still has a long way to go, and he knows that himself, having shown his clear focus in his Instagram message.
United teammates showed their support for Ibragimov with Harry Amass, Ethan Wheatley, Jack Fletcher, Sam Mather, Habeeb Ogunneye, Ethan Ennis, Jaydan Kamason and Godwill Kukonki among those to send emojis and congratulations.
MMA fighter and older brother Ibragim also sent a message of support, whilst former United talent Zidane Iqbal said ‘congrats brother’.
‘Deserve it brother’ added Shea Lacey, and summer signing Samuel Lusale simply stated ‘deserved’.
This is a positive step for Ibragimov, and he appears ready to put in the hard work and ultimately justify this new contract under Amorim and beyond.
