Manchester United star Diogo Dalot has been named in the best under-23 XI at the World Cup, according to WhoScored data.
The defender, 23, made three starts at the tournament in Qatar, having managed to dislodge Joao Cancelo from Portugal’s line-up mid-tournament.
Dalot made a strong impression, even providing an assist for Goncalo Ramos in Portugal’s 6-1 demolition of Switzerland.
His side were ultimately defeated in the quarter-finals by Morocco.

Best under-23 XI of 2022 World Cup
A statistical look at the best under-23 players at the World Cup was compiled by WhoScored, using their player ratings system.
Diogo Dalot flew the flag for Manchester United, one of two Portugal players included along with goalkeeper Diogo Costa of Porto.
The team also included three players linked with Manchester United moves, with The Telegraph linking Mohamed Kudus and Jude Bellingham, along with Cody Gakpo, who also makes the line-up.
Only players who made three appearances or more were included. Netherlands’ Jurrien Timber also made it in, after his summer links to United.
Dalot being named is testament to the improvement he has shown in his game this season, flourishing under the guidance of new Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.
His attacking game has improved along with his defending, and he is now United’s automatic first choice at right-back.
