Eurosport report that Inter Milan are monitoring Eric Bailly’s contract situation at Manchester United.
They report that Bailly is frustrated about his current situation at Old Trafford.
He has just over a year left on his current United deal and his injury record means it’s unclear whether he’ll sign a new one.
United were apparently hoping to keep Bailly and use their summer transfer budget in other areas but they are now looking at alternative central defenders.
Bailly is a hugely popular member of the squad, who has the best years of his career ahead of him.
But he has been unable to stay fit for the entirety of a season since joining United in 2016 under Jose Mourinho.
When those fitness concerns are combined with Bailly now reportedly being unsettled, it means a summer exit is a possibility.
And of course Inter and United have done plenty of recent business with each other.
Ashley Young, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez have all left Old Trafford for the San Siro during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reign.
They’re part of an Inter side who currently sit top of Serie A, as Antonio Conte sets about ending Juventus’ dominance of Italy.
Bailly has plenty to offer if he can stay fit.
The decision United have to make is whether it makes sense to tie someone with Bailly’s injury record down to a long-term deal.
They may decide to try and cut their losses and sign another central defender to partner Harry Maguire, at Bailly’s expense.
