Five prolific strikers United could sign for £30m or less

Manchester United need a goalscorer to help ease the pressure on Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood.

Marcus Rashford is out with a back injury which could see him sit on the sidelines for three months.

There is 10 days left for United to add a new striker. And the club don’t have to break the bank.

Here is a look at five strikers United could sign for less than £30 million…

Edinson Cavani

PSG ace Cavani is in the last few months of his contract and is expected to leave the club this transfer window Sky Sports report.

Rio Ferdinand tipped Cavani as his dream United signing earlier this month.

He would command big wages, but he would give United an instant lift. Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are also interested.

ESPN report PSG are looking for 20 million Euros to do a deal this month.

Krzysztof Piatek

AC Milan are willing to cash in on Krzysztof Piatek this month after signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, The Guardian report.

Piatek, 24, has been linked to other Premier League clubs this transfer window including Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham.

In the past one and a half seasons in Italy he has scored 27 Serie A goals, and Milan are said to be happy to accept £30m.

Myron Boadu

AZ Alkmaar striker Myron Boadu might be worth United taking a chance on.

He is the Eredivisie’s second highest goalscorer this season at just the age of 19 and also has seven assists.

He struck four goals in five Europa League games, but missed the game at Old Trafford due to suspension.

Timo Werner

Timo Werner may be the best striker on the market. German outlet Kicker report he has a £27.5 million release clause.

The 22-year-old has a prolific record, scoring 20 goals in 18 Bundesliga games this season.

It might not be easy to tempt him away from RB Leipzig mid-season, with the club top of the league in Germany, but United should try everything to persuade him to join.

Paco Alcacer

It was a big shame to miss out on Erling Haaland to Borussia Dortmund. But United should still consider a deal with the German club.

Spanish striker Paco Alcacer will see his game time limited by Haaland, he had only made six league starts this season before this point, scoring five times. He was left out of Dortmund’s squad at the weekend.

The 26-year-old Spaniard struck 18 league goals last season and could be an ideal stop gap signing for United.
