Ex-Manchester United star Tom Cleverley has given his verdict on the imminent arrival of Sofyan Amrabat.
After a long summer of ‘will he or won’t he’, United are finally set to get their man. Fabrizio Romano claims that an agreement is now in place for United to sign the Moroccan from Fiorentina before the window closes.
There is still work to be done, but the Red Devils are confident they can get this deal over the line, which would make Amrabat the fourth signing of deadline day.
It’s safe to say United needed him, with other summer acquisition Mason Mount out for some time now.

The midfielder should slot in that number eight spot for United, but it’s unknown as to whether he can feature against Arsenal.
His arrival will be welcomed by all fans and players associated with the club. Tom Cleverley, a former United midfielder who played a similar position to Amrabat, gave his thoughts on the Sky Sports Transfer Deadline Day Show about the imminent arrival.
“I can’t say too much about his performances, because apart from the World Cup I haven’t watched too much of him,” Cleverley told Deadline Day viewers. “But in that – he was a machine.”
“He was a real box-to-box midfielder and a high-energy number eight. He’ll be a fan favourite if he can replicate those performances.

Will Amrabat be a good fit for United?
There’s a reason we’ve been chasing him for so long.
He was a name flaunted even before Mount got injured, so it isn’t just a deal that’s fabricated due to unforeseen circumstances.
We think Amrabat will slot in nicely with this United side. He’ll bring a much-needed injection of energy into the midfield.
