Manchester United have been linked with Inter Milan striker Pio Esposito and his agent has now commented on the rumours.
With Joshua Zirkzee’s future unclear at Manchester United, there is currently a chance that Benjamin Sesko may be the only natural centre-forward in the squad heading into 2026/27.
United could enter the transfer market for a striker to play back-up to Sesko, and there have been links to Francisco Pio Esposito.
Esposito, who stands at 6’3″and scored 10 goals for Inter last season, has emerged as a potential target.

What Pio Esposito’s agent said about transfer links
As a 20-year-old striker with exciting potential, Esposito ticks all the boxes as an Ineos signing at United.
There are reports that United have been scouting the Italian striker, but his agent was quick to shut down any transfer rumours.
As quoted by TuttoMercatoWeb, Esposito’s agent Mario Giuffredi said: “Pio Esposito is happy at Inter and will stay there for many years, no more b*******.”
“There’s no point in creating ghosts.
“Pio is happy at Inter and I believe he will stay there for many years: this is the boy’s will. Let’s not create false market expectations.”

Man Utd’s other striker targets in 2026 summer transfer window
The comments from Giuffredi seem to strictly rule out any chance of Esposito ending the summer at Old Trafford.
But there are other striker targets that United have been linked to this summer.
If Ineos changed their strategy and wanted an experienced striker, there have been links to Robert Lewandowski, who is a free agent after leaving Barcelona this summer.

Additionally, United have been linked to Igor Thiago after his breakout season with Brentford. He is currently with the Brazil squad ahead of the World Cup.
Former United target Julian Alvarez is also on the market and is an opportunity for Ineos to spend big on a marquee centre-forward.
