Erik ten Hag‘s Manchester United travel to The Emirates on Sunday looking to cut the gap to Premier League leaders Arsenal down to five points.
Following Michael Olise’s injury time equaliser for Crystal Palace on Wednesday night, the Red Devils are eight points behind Mikel Arteta’s Gunners and have played a game more.
But the twenty-time league champions are the only side to have beaten Arteta’s men in the league so far this season following the 3-1 win at Old Trafford back in September.
Ahead of United’s trip to north London, United in Focus takes a look the last Manchester United XI that beat Arsenal at The Emirates.
Where are they now: Last Manchester United XI that beat Arsenal at The Emirates

United’s last win in Arsenal’s backyard came four years ago when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was at the helm and the Reds beat Unai Emery’s Gunners 3-1 in an FA Cup fourth-round tie in what was a counter-attacking clinic.
Goals from Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial secured United’s passage to the last-16.
But who featured in United’s starting line-up in January 2019?
Starting XI: Romero, Young, Lindelof, Bailly, Shaw, Herrera, Matic, Pogba, Lingard, Sanchez, Lukaku.
Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw are the only remaining players that form part of Ten Hag’s plans with Eric Bailly in the midst of a season-long loan with Ligue 1 giants Marseille.
The French side could end up signing the Ivorian on a permanent deal if they qualify for the Champions League or United’s number three plays a certain amount of games.
United have lost three of our last four trips to The Emirates and if the Reds are to mount a title challenge in Ten Hag’s first season a second win against Arteta’s Arsenal this season seems a must.
