United target Ivan Perisic reportedly available for knock-down fee

Has Jose Mourinho just been given the transfer news he was waiting to hear?
Inter Milan are reportedly considering cashing in on Ivan Perisic, according to Calciomercato.
What makes this particularly notable is that Inter are claimed to be willing to consider offers from just £31 million.
This is a huge knockdown price for the Croatian, who Inter wanted twice as much for two summers ago.

United CEO Ed Woodward refused to pay up, and Jose Mourinho has cut a frustrated figure ever since.
The Times recently reported that Perisic was the one player Mourinho wanted ahead of Alexis Sanchez, and still regrets not having signed the Inter ace.

Why are Inter considering a sale?

Perisic’s form this season has been underwhelming. He has two goals and two assists in 12 games and has failed to score since September 1.
This could be a major error of judgement from Inter.
Perisic, 29, is not in decline. He is most likely experiencing a World Cup hangover, in a similar way to Romelu Lukaku at United.

This is all good news for United as it could allow Mourinho to finally get his man. Perisic showed his quality with a goal in the World Cup final, and his low key form this season should be swept aside.
Perisic is a player who can help get the best out of Lukaku, with Mourinho a big admirer of the Croatian’s crossing ability.
With Alexis Sanchez continuing to be linked with an exit, United can sell the Chilean, get Perisic in and probably still be left in profit.

Even if the price ends up being closer to £40-50 million, United will still have to consider a move to land Mourinho’s number one target.
How much would you want United to spend on Perisic?
