Manchester United are reportedly ‘locked’ in negotiations of the transfer of Matteo Darmian back to Italy.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Napoli are keen on taking the full-back back to Serie A after an underwhelming spell in England and are progressing with talks with United.

The Italian international has made ten appearances this season, with just four of those coming in the league, falling way behind other players in the pecking order.

Juventus and Roma are also rumoured to be interested in the player but it is Napoli, according to Sky Sports, who have made the first move. Their offer is to sign the player on loan with a view to a permanent transfer in the summer.
