Manchester United’s squad clearly needs strengthening in the upcoming transfer window.
Whether Jose Mourinho will be entrusted to spend money is another matter, but transfer speculation is beginning to filter through.
Bookmakers are already offering odds on players who could sign for various clubs, with SkyBet posting numerous markets.

Harry Maguire (Leicester City) 9/2

Quick verdict: United need a centre-back and Maguire raised his profile with outstanding performances at the World Cup for England.
Maguire’s season for Leicester has not been as eye catching – and this could help bring down his over inflated price tag.

Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal) 12/1

Quick verdict: Ramsey would be a worthwhile signing if United cannot get Ander Herrera to extend his contract.
His own deal at Arsenal expires in the summer and he could be sold in January.
It would be a steady addition, but not one who changes United’s fortunes.

Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli) 12/1

Quick verdict: This is more like it. Koulibaly is an outstanding centre-back who Chelsea have tried and failed to sign previously.
He would cost upwards of £50 million but would be worth it. He would instantly become United’s best defender.

Adrien Rabiot (PSG) 14/1

Quick verdict: Outstanding PSG midfielder Rabiot is available on a free transfer next summer.
The 23-year-old would be an instant upgrade on Nemanja Matic and could be exactly what United need.

Ousmane Dembele (Barcelona) 16/1

Quick verdict: Dembele has not settled at Barcelona and the La Liga giants have been linked with cashing in.
He could be the winger United desperately need and he already knows Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba from the France international set up.
