Manchester United had a hectic transfer deadline day, owing to a lethargic window as a whole.

It makes you wonder what could have been achieved if three months had not been spent fruitlessly pursuing Jadon Sancho.

United sold one player, and signed four, including one player for the academy.

Alex Telles

United secured a deal to sign Alex Telles from Porto for a fee of £13.6 million plus £1.8 million in add ons, BBC Sport reported.

This represent very good value and was possible because Telles was in his final year of his Porto contract.

Edinson Cavani

United announced the signing of Uruguay forward Edinson Cavani on a free transfer.

Cavani said: “I feel eager to compete and represent this incredible club.”

Facundo Pellistri

Pellistri became the second Uruguayan to sign, following Cavani in at Old Trafford.

The 18-year-old winger signs from Penarol on a five year deal, which United can extend by a further year.

 

Amad Traore

United are paying big money to sign Atalanta winger Amad Traore.

The 18-year-old will cost £19 million plus a further £18 million in add ons, BBC Sport report.

However, this deal will only go through in January due to work permit reasons.

Willy Kambwala

United secured the signing of youngster Willy Kambwala from Sochaux.

The 16-year-old centre-back will join United’s academy and go into the under-18s side.

Chris Smalling

Chris Smalling’s exit from Manchester United finally went through before the Italian deadline.

Smalling joins Roma on a permanent deal, with BBC Sport reporting United land £13.6 million, which could rise to £18.1 million.
