Jadon Sancho started for England in a 4-0 Euro 2020 quarter-final win over Ukraine.

His new Manchester United teammate Harry Maguire was on the scoresheet, heading in a Luke Shaw cross.

Shaw assisted another goal, crossing for Harry Kane. It was a truly dominant performance by England.

Sancho was dangerous throughout, even without getting on the scoresheet.

Former United Champions League winner Rio Ferdinand told BBC Sport that this was just a taster of what Sancho will deliver at Old Trafford.

Ferdinand said: “‘I’ll tell you what one thing at Man United he’ll have people off the seats.

“There’s moments in this game where he draws your breath and you think ‘ooh wow that’s different’.

“He’s a fantastic talent we know that but mentally he’s very strong. He’s got a desire to be as good as he can be and fulfil that potential.”

Sancho’s performance and Ferdinand’s words offer huge encouragement for next season for United.

For the moment we can just enjoy a magical run from England, who have now gone five games without conceding a goal at Euro 2020.

Sancho played 90 minutes against Ukraine while completing 93 per cent of his passes.

He won seven duels and caused problems by making four successful dribbles.

This was just a taster, and it was good to see him playing with confidence. It looks lie United have a real player.
