It’s the return of the regular rumour as David De Gea has been linked, once again, with a move to Real Madrid.
This time however Don Balon in Spain reports that the goalkeeper is ‘desperate’ to leave and has already instructed his agent to negotiate the exit.
De Gea has forever been linked with a return to Spain and came close to a move a couple of years back after the clubs finally agreed a deal, only for it to fall apart at the last moment of the transfer window.
The Spaniard has been in top form this season, cementing his status as one of the world’s best players.
United will not entertain the transfer until the summer at the earliest. With talk of Cristiano Ronaldo being unhappy with life there, and the constant talk about Gareth Bale returning to the Premier League, it is likely that the European Champions will use Bale at least as leverage to try and offset some of the fee. United are sure to demand a world record fee for a goalkeeper.
Should United accept De Gea’s apparent wish to leave again, it is likely they will be in for Gianluigi Donnarumma of AC Milan, a Mino Raiola client who is one of the most highly-rated young goalkeepers in world football.
