Manchester United have made a £25m offer for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.
Sanchez is out of contract at the end of the season and has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester City. However, United have spectacularly entered the race to sign the Chile international.
The Guardian report that Sanchez has already agreed personal terms with City, but Arsenal are yet to agree a fee with the Champions-elect. City’s offer was rumoured to be around £20m and United’s bigger offer is obviously more likely to be accepted.
In a surprising twist, the Guardian also say that United have offered Arsenal the opportunity to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
United are reportedly prepared to offer Sanchez a higher salary than what City were offering and could offer the former Barcelona player the number 7 shirt which is currently vacant.
