Manchester United are set to make Brazilian midfielder Fred their first signing of the summer, according to reports.

United manager Jose Mourinho is keen to make major waves in the transfer market before the start of the World Cup, especially with the transfer deadline being pulled back to before the start of next season’s Premier League kicks off.

And it appears that Shakhtar Donetsk’s Brazilian international Fred is going to be the first to those players to come in and add some significant experience in the middle of the park. The midfielder has been linked with a move to Manchester City.

Sky Sports’ Paul Gilmour tweeted this :

Fred is 25 and scored four goals last season; the fee is rumoured to be in the region of £50m.
