Paul Pogba has a golden opportunity this weekend when Manchester United host Liverpool at Old Trafford.
This will be Pogba’s first game against Liverpool this season, after Jose Mourinho benched him at Anfield.
The decision now looks highly embarrassing for the former United boss.
Mourinho and Pogba’s relationship broke down, and Pogba was an unused substitute in United’s defeat, with Marouane Fellaini preferred off the bench.
Mourinho was subsequently sacked, and Pogba has gone about making him look silly ever since.
Form of his life
Interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made clear that he wanted to build the team around Pogba and the Frenchman has stepped up.
His goal and assist against Chelsea in midweek was further evidence of his recent dominance.
Under Solskjaer, Pogba has scored nine goals and provided six assists in 15 games.
No player in Europe has contributed more goals to their team over the same period.
A big performance against Liverpool is due for Pogba, and it will neatly show how far he has come since the last time the two teams played.
This is his chance to really become a United hero.
