Marcos Rojo made just his second Premier League start of the season in United’s win over West Ham.
The Argentine started at left-back in the 2-1 victory, lasting 74 minutes.
Rojo was replacing Luke Shaw who is suspended, and will also miss the midweek clash away to Barcelona.
His performance left us no closer to working out who should start at left-back in the Nou Camp.
Rojo obviously was not at the top of his game after so much time on the sidelines.
Solskjaer even admitted he was not at 100 per cent, telling BBC Sport: “He has had trouble with his calf but he had to step in because we had so many full-backs out.”
But there have always been questions over his ability to play at left-back. When he has played well for United it’s been as a centre-half.
Rojo was caught out of position for Felipe Anderson’s equaliser as the Brazilian snuck in at the back post to score.
He attempted three tackles, made three interceptions, and five clearances. He also had two shots at goal from distance.
It’s doubtful Rojo has a long term future in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans and this does expose the lack of depth at left-back behind Shaw. Ashley Young was also suspended for the game.
Paul Pogba scored two penalties to give United a 2-1 in.
Here is a look at how United fans reacted to Rojo’s performance…
Rojo lacks confidence and game time you seriously can’t judge a player who’s played so little this season he will be an ideal back up for shaw. I worry about rb massively not lb.

The only mess Gunnar solskjaer did is substituting Marcos Rojo, it was big blow to the team as defence weakened #MUFC

Put Rojo left back and Martial out wide, literally might aswell not have a winger. Gave Rojo no option, no help.
People are blaming only Rojo for Westham’s goal. But just look at where Phil Jones was. He was so far away from the player behind him. That indirectly forced Rojo to be where he was. Absolute clown #MUNWHU #mufc #ManUtd

Marcos Rojo might be my least favourite player to ever wear a United shirt. Disgustingly woeful. #MUFC

Can’t remember the last time Rojo played and didn’t have a pop from 30+ yards. Done it twice today 🙄 #MUFC
