Manchester United are regularly thrown into the rumour mill to drum up business from elsewhere. While their stature means agents will often offer their players to the Red Devils.
According to FC Inter News, the representatives of Layvin Kurzwa have asked United if they would be interested in signing the left-back. But they were surely wasting their time.
United already have two quality left-backs in their ranks in the form of Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams. The latter has blossomed into one of the Red Devil’s best young players, while Shaw has rediscovered his best form in recent times.
With Diogo Dalot also able to operate on the left flank if required, a move for Kurzawa makes absolutely no sense.
At 27, the Paris-Saint Germain man is outside the age range of typical United targets under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. While he will be a free agent this summer, his wages would be an unnecessary expense.
Agents will sound out interested clubs all summer long. However, in this case, United’s name has been thrown into the mix for no real reason.
There may have been a time when Kurzawa would have been a sensible signing for United. But the surprisingly quick emergence of Williams means left-back is one position Solskjaer has no need to strengthen any time soon.
